Hedge Wizard Character Redesign 3.0
I went through a bit of a style transition halfway through doing the v2 redesigns. Through practice using references, I've gotten a lot better since I started this Artstation profile. I believe these will ACTUALLY be more or less the final designs for the project.
I mean, look, they have mouths now! I would really appreciate it if interested folks check out the v1 project to see how drastic some of these changes are.
Eyva's hair is the biggest change. I finally let go of the curly mess she had in favor of a hairstyle I based on another independent character I did from reference.
Eyvar didn't change much.
Naoufel underwent some minor changes.
Claudette changed quite a bit because I never felt like I got her hair to work before. I'm not sure this is as good as it can be, but it's good enough for now!
Timeo lost the ponytail from his v1 design (no v2 for him).
Vermillia got a lot more detail and better hair highlights.
Malachi's hair color changed yet again to a brighter red. Other than that, his design didn't need to change much. I always liked it.
The Instructor character is now called Barkle and he probably changed the least from v2.
Agrivar changed quite a bit, losing the more generic (I thought) designs from v1 and 2. Here he looks a bit more Norse influenced, which is intended for the culture he's from.
Halgeir's armor went darker and I added some gold details that I thought fit the lightly Norse flavor of them and Agrivar.
This is Halgeir without the helmet. Fundamentally, they haven't changed much from v2, but I really think the outfit is a ton better.
Cabbage Jack changed only a little bit from v2, mostly in the hat!
This is Carrot Jack, Cabbage Jack's carrot son. He never had a v2.
McMurphy changed only slightly from v2.
Catriona underwent a few changes, hair color and expression mostly.
Rhoda gets better every time I work on her, I think. Minor changes here from v2.
One of the bigger character changes is Fen, formerly just known by his title "Monster Hunter". When I tried to get hairstyle together for a hoodless version, I fell in love with this look and decided to stick with it. But who knows, the hood may return.
Waverly changed a lot. Hair color, outfit, and a lot more detail in her hairstyle.
Tamra's overall design only changed slightly. I refined bits and added the dagger.
Bellamy's style only changed a little tiny bit to fit the new template.
Midas's core design didn't change, but almost every detail did. I am proud of the back of his head since I couldn't get the bald spot right before.
Bird Lady has changed a lot since v1 and v2. Here I tried to go for a more Eagle-like appearance than the blackbird style I had before. I may switch back, I may not.
Davidge changed a little, mostly details.
Gillian had no v2 but this is a huge change in color and hairstyle since v1. Also, with the more expressive face designs I've adopted, she looks like the little hellion she is.
Cymbeline only changed a little.
Regan didn't have a v2 and has changed a lot from v1. I may change her hair some more but probably only minor changes.
Angler is still a jerk and still a reference to Terraria I'm not sure I can get away with.
Fishboy only changed slightly.
Taeo has changed a lot to become more heavily muscled and better defined.
Zanzi underwent minor changes from v2.
No v2 of the Guard Captain, a minor character. He has changed considerably though.
The Eager Guard is one of the Captain's garrison. She changed from v1 because she had no v2.
The Sleepy Guard is another of the garrison. He changed a lot from v1 to become more expressive.
